The AXIS A4020-E Reader gives you the flexibility and capability needed to respond quickly to future changes while ensuring backward compatibility. Designed to meet specific system requirements, it supports most types of smart RFID cards, including 13.56MHz credential technologies such as MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire EV1 and EV2. It includes day-one support for the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), providing secure two-way communication. In addition, it enables easy remote device management, including upgrading with new features, device configuration and enhancing security through Axis access control solutions.

The Secure Channel Protocol (SCP) is supported, which provides protected communications and connections. Signed firmware and secure boot ensure that the firmware has not been compromised and allow installation of only authorised firmware. And when needed, secure boot ensures the reader is completely free of malicious software, even after a factory reset. The certified secure element in the hardware ensures that all cryptographic keys are safe and stored securely. And for added peace of mind, it includes tamper detection, so you will know of any attempt to interfere with the device.
