The RB5009UG+S+IN offers seven 1G network ports, one 2.5G network port, and one 10G SFP+ port. All ports are connected to a Marvell Amethyst switch chip, and the switch chip in turn has a 10 Gbps full-duplex connection to a quad-core Marvell Armada processor running at 1.4 GHz. The processor and switch chip of the device are located at the bottom of the case, which allows the case to act as a massive heat sink.

The RB5009UG+S+IN can be powered in three different ways:
- via PoE-in port on port #1 - #8
- via DC adapter input (24-57V)
- 2-pin terminal (24-57V)

IMPORTANT: If you use PoE-Out for other devices, the board will select the voltage with the highest voltage to power those PoE devices.

Each PoE-Out port supports up to 25W - passive, 802.3af/at(input < 30 V: 640 mA; input > 30 V: 420 mA). All ports combined are limited to 130W. It is possible to manually redefine the maximum power for each of the power supply methods.

The device comes with 1GB DDR4 RAM and 1GB NAND internal memory.

Another interesting feature of the device is that the processor self-regulates how much power it operates at depending on how busy it is.

In the box you can also find a rack mounting kit, as four of these routers can fit in a single 1U rack.
