Description

Twin Power Turbo is the name of the new range of original engine oils from the automotive giant BMW. Since 2015 they have been produced by the giant Shell using the much-talked-about PurePlus technology. Its essence is refining the base lubricant (which makes up 75 to 90% of the final product itself) from natural gas instead of crude oil. This technology makes a major leap in purity, removing various unwanted impurities, significantly reduces corrosion and keeps the engine clean. A reduction in technological consumption and lubricant losses is observed, as well as lower fuel consumption. These achievements are thanks to reduced friction (and consequently a lower engine operating temperature) and unique stability at high temperatures and viscosity resistance throughout operation. Twin Power Turbo Longlife 04 is a fully synthetic Low SAPS lubricant with a viscosity of SAE 5W-30, suitable for all-season use. It is fully compatible with modern catalytic systems and DPF filters. It is exceptionally suitable for vehicles with turbochargers. Specifications and approvals: ACEA C3 - a standard for petrol and diesel engines that ensures compatibility and a longer life of the DPF (diesel particulate filter) and TWC (three-way catalyst), and helps with fuel economy. These are "low SAPS" oils with low levels of sulphated ash (<0.8%), phosphorus (<0.07%) and sulphur (<0.3%). They require low friction and an HTHS viscosity of >3.5mPas. ACEA C3 is usually associated with the company approvals MB 229.51, VW50200/VW50501, BMW LL-04. API SN – a standard of the American Petroleum Institute. This approval requires engine oils to be energy-saving. At the same time, it ensures additional protection of the unit. Oils of this class are distinguished by containing less phosphorus, sulphur and soot. It roughly corresponds to the ACEA C2, C3 and C4 specifications. Longlife 04 – a company approval for lubricants with extended service and change intervals, required for BMW petrol or diesel vehicles with an integrated diesel particulate filter and turbocharger, produced after 2004. These engine oils can also be used in cars designed for older specifications. See more technical information
