Separate dome tweeter brings the vocals up to eye level

The KENWOOD KFC-E170P is a two-way component car speaker system with 17-centimetre woofers, separate tweeters and external crossovers. The set mounts in the standard factory locations in the doors, and the tweeters can be positioned freely on the pillar or dashboard. The box includes the grilles, brackets and mounting hardware.

Component design with external crossover

The crossover splits the signal between bass and high frequencies before it reaches the speakers. The separate tweeter is aimed at the listener, lifting the sound from foot level toward the windscreen.

Polypropylene cone and P.E.I. dome

The woofer cone is moulded polypropylene on a steel basket, with a textile surround and a ferrite magnet of 102 g. High frequencies are reproduced by a balanced P.E.I. dome with a diameter of 39.2 mm.

92 dB sensitivity for use with factory radio

High sensitivity means more sound pressure at the same input power. The set sounds convincing and direct from the built-in radio, and with an added amplifier it handles up to 300 W peak power.

44 mm mounting depth and complete hardware

The mounting cut-out is Ø 140 mm, and the box includes grilles, two mounting brackets, twelve clip nuts and twelve screws in two sizes. Replacing the factory speakers requires no extra accessories to be purchased.
