Noctua Mounting Kit NM-AMB12
AMD's latest Ryzen CPUs have their Core Complex Die(s) not in the center, but on the south side of the CPU. By moving the heatsink just above the hot spot created by the CCD and applying optimal contact pressure where it matters most, thermal efficiency can often be greatly improved.
Although results may vary due to different heat flux densities, both CPU and heatsink tolerances, and other factors such as thermal paste application, offset mounting can produce significant improvements with typical reductions in core temperatures ranging between 1 and 3°C on high-end AM5 CPUs. These benefits can be used to allow the CPU to run cooler, to achieve higher clock speeds, or to reduce fan speeds and noise levels.
