APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Application Conditions: All surfaces intended for coating must be dry, the air temperature must not be lower than +5°C and not higher than +25°C, and the relative air humidity must be below 80%.
Surface Preparation:
Unpainted Surfaces: New plaster and concrete substrates can be painted 4 weeks after complete drying. Clean these surfaces from dust and dirt, smooth out unevenness and weak spots with filler. Drywall, plasterboard, and skim coat can be painted after they are completely dry. If the surface irregularities are significant, the wall must be leveled with a leveling mortar and then a smooth filler should be applied over the entire surface. In case of minor irregularities, you can apply a smooth filler directly. The use of the aforementioned mortars and fillers must be carried out in accordance with the product data sheets for these products. Machine-applied plaster with a visibly glossy aggregate surface must be sanded and dusted. Then apply one coat of Optiva Primer.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Wash the surface before coating and remove grease with Maalipesu, dirt, and weak and flaking fragments of the old coating. Sand glossy surfaces and smooth out irregularities with filler. Gloss effect paints - satin, semi-matte, semi-gloss, and gloss must be sanded over the entire surface before final dedusting. When sanding, use sandpaper with 150-200 grit. Prime the entire substrate with Optiva Primer. Priming can be omitted only if the existing coating is fully intact (the manufacturer is not responsible for incorrect assessment of the actual condition of the substrate). Apply two coats of Tikkurila Optiva Satin Matt [7] paint.
Surfaces Treated with Glue or Painted with Lime Paints: Thoroughly remove the lime paint or glue. Clean the surfaces from dust and dirt, smooth out irregularities with filler. Then apply one coat of Optiva Primer. In case of a weak substrate, prime with Tikkurila Suprabylit.
Note: It is recommended to check whether the applied filler has a sound and stable surface; if, after a light wipe with the hand, the putty falls off or leaves dust on the hand, it means that the surface is crumbly and must be primed with Tikkurila Suprabylit.
Topcoat: Before painting, dilute a sufficient amount of paint from a single production batch to avoid potential color differences. Mix the paint thoroughly before application. Depending on the porosity of the substrate, apply 2 coats of Tikkurila Optiva Matt 5 with a brush, roller, or spray. For colors with particularly low hiding power (marked in the tinting system), additional coats may need to be applied. In the case of applying colors marked in the tinting system as low-hiding (LH) and intensive colors from base C, it is recommended to use Tikkurila Optiva Primer tinted to a color close to the color of the topcoat. The masking tape delimiting the painted surface should be removed immediately after painting, before the paint dries. The use of ANZA painting tools is recommended.
Note: The finish achieves full wet scrub resistance quality according to PN-EN 13300 after 28 days from the completion of painting.
