Description

Velatura is a white, matte, alkyd primer for wooden surfaces and walls. Diluted with an organic solvent, the primer creates an ideal base for applying enamel paints. It is distinguished by high coverage and a high degree of whiteness. It combines easy application, excellent leveling, and easy sanding.

• Surface drying time: 2-3h

• Dilution percentage with solvent: 0-3%

• Consumption: 16-18m2/lt

• Application: brush, roller, or spray gun

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces must be dry and smooth. They must be cleaned of dust, grease, and loose materials.
New wooden surfaces are treated with a wood preservative after knots have been removed.
Cracks are puttied, and holes are filled with construction putty.

APPLICATION

Before use, the primer should be stirred well. It is applied in one or two coats, with a roller or brush, diluted 3% with brush solvent T 300, or with an airless spray gun, diluted 3% with spray gun solvent T 350. The product should not be applied at temperatures lower than 5°C, higher than 35°C, and/or at a relative humidity higher than 80%.
The applied layer is dry to the touch in 2-3 hours. A subsequent coat can be applied after 16-18 hours. Once completely dry, it should be sanded with suitable sandpaper, the dust removed, and an enamel paint, water-based or solvent-based, applied. The indicated times depend on atmospheric conditions (temperature and relative humidity).
Application tools and material stains on flooring are cleaned with brush solvent T 300, and then washed with soap or another detergent. Spray guns are cleaned with spray gun solvent T 350.
