Thyme (Thumus vulgaris) is a perennial, sun-loving plant, but sensitive to the amount of light, especially in the initial period, as it develops slowly and does not tolerate shading. Thyme is similar to a bush, strongly branched with pale purple to white flowers and a height of 25 - 30 cm. It is widely used, thanks to the presence of essential oil, mineral salts, tannins and others, and is used to prepare tea, compresses, cosmetic products and, of course, as a seasoning for salads, soups, sauces and marinades. It can be grown both outdoors and in a pot on the balcony, but being a plant of the Mediterranean climate, it needs warmth. Seeds for seedlings are sown in the period March - May, and young plants are transplanted in April and May.
