The Branded (Cormoran Strike 8)

A mutilated body is discovered in the storeroom of a silver goods shop, mostly with Masonic symbols, near the Masonic Hall in London. At first the police believe it belongs to a bandit convicted of robbery, but Desima Mullins, owner of a restaurant, is convinced it is her missing friend's. She hires Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott to investigate the crime. In the course of the inquiries, the case unfolds and becomes more and more complicated. A connection emerges with several missing men matching the description...

No less gripping is the romantic thread of the novel, the development of the relationship between the two detectives, which becomes increasingly dramatic and exciting. And with Galbraith's characteristic writing manner, the intense plot again skilfullyweaves in interpretive references, this time borrowed from Victorian poetry and from the moral values of Freemasonry. An intriguing crime story with an esoteric flavour, emerging from the masterful pen of Robert Galbraith, that "will keep you up all night".

A triumph of the art of storytelling. The Guardian

"The Hallmarked Man" (2025) is the title of another investigation by Detective Strike from the legendary crime series by Robert Galbraith, pseudonym of J. K. Rowling. And again, like the previous seven novels, it tops all bestseller lists in the world and will become part of the television series produced by "Bronte Film and Television".
