Unica 60 Super varnish, semi-gloss.
Fast-drying urethane alkyd varnish. Contains a UV protection agent that slows down the yellowing effect caused by sunlight. The tinted product provides better protection against sunlight than a colorless product.
Unica Super is suitable for interior and exterior wooden surfaces. It can be used for boats above the waterline, furniture, and floors subject to light mechanical and chemical stress.
Colors: Can be tinted in Tikkurila translucent colors. Make a test application to ensure the color is correct. If the color is too dark, add colorless Unica Super or White Spirit 1050.
Coverage: Semi-gloss
Spread rate: 12 - 14 m²/liter.
Application method: Brush or spray. For airless spraying, use a 0.009" - 0.013" nozzle e.g., 0.230 - 0.330 mm. - thinning 0-10% by volume.
Drying time: Dust-free after 2 hours, recoatable after 6 hours. The next coat can be applied after 24 hours. Final hardness and durability are achieved after approximately 4 weeks. Drying time depends on ventilation, relative air humidity, temperature, and film thickness.
Cleaning resistance: Excellent for all common detergents, SFS 3755.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Application conditions
The surface to be varnished must be dry. The air temperature must be at least +5°C and the relative air humidity below 80% during varnishing and drying. Do not apply in strong sunlight or in damp and cold weather. Allow enough working time for the varnish coat to dry before evening moisture.
Surface preparation
1. Unpainted surfaces: Clean the surface by removing dirt and dust. Before surface treatment, wipe hardwood surfaces with White Spirit 1050. Always prime exterior wooden surfaces exposed to weathering with Valtti Pohjuste priming oil before applying the varnish.
2. Varnished surfaces: Wash the surface with Maalipesu detergent and rinse thoroughly with water. Remove old/weak varnish with a scraper. Sand the entire surface and remove sanding dust.
Varnishing
Prime varnishing: Stir the varnish thoroughly before use. Prime untreated surfaces with varnish thinned by max. 20% White Spirit 1050. Apply 2-3 thin and even coats. If necessary, thin the finishing varnish 0-20%. On previously varnished surfaces, apply 1-2 coats of unthinned varnish.
Sand the surface lightly between coats. Note!
Always prime exterior surfaces with high-gloss Unica Super 90.
Maintenance varnishing: Check the condition of varnished surfaces exposed to weather and apply a maintenance coat if necessary. The maintenance interval when using a tinted product is longer than that of a colorless product. Surfaces varnished with Unica Super can be maintained by varnishing with the same or a similar solvent-based varnish. See pretreatment instructions.
