While the Heart Still Beats

When she goes to her sister's birthday party, Cora she expects at most a hangover or an awkward morning-after escape. She does not expect to have her wallet stolen and be forced to rely on Dean for a ride. Dean – her sworn enemy and eternal irritant.

And she certainly did not expect that the two of them would end up in the basement of a serial killer, shackled and lost in the darkness of a true nightmare. Their recent rivalry quickly gives way to the horror of survival.

Forced to rely on each other, Cora and Dean endure pain, fear and despair day after day, the kind that would break anyone. They do not suspect, however, that their captor has a plan for them. A plan that will change their relationship, blur the line between hatred and love, and bind them together forever – and not with ordinary chains.

From a birthday party to a serial killer's basement – the story of "Still Beating" stuns, blurs boundaries and speeds up the pulse not only of the characters, but of the reader too.
